Ringing for Notre Dame - the bells of Hertfordshire rang out on Maundy Thursday 18th April

Following the devastating fire at the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris on 15th April, the Archbishops of Canterbury & York and Prime Minister Theresa May asked for bells at churches and cathedrals across the UK to ring out in solidarity on Thursday 18th April (Maundy Thursday). Ringing in the week before Easter is usually prohibited, but many towers in Hertfordshire got agreement from their vicar and got bands together at short notice, or tolled the tenor for 7 minutes at 7pm to show their support.
